Joy
I did not start as a trained artist. Watercolor came into my life quietly, first as curiosity, then as discipline, and eventually as a necessity.
I am self-taught. What began as evening sketches gradually turned into a daily practice. I studied light, observed how water moves on cotton paper, and learned patience through repetition. In the beginning, there were no classrooms or studios, just experimentation, failed sheets, and the slow discovery of my voice.
The Journey
Over time, that private practice became public.
My work has been shown in galleries across India, and I have had the privilege of seeing my paintings find homes with collectors both in the country and abroad. What started as solo exploration has developed into a dialogue between artist and viewer, memory and place.
I am drawn to ordinary scenes: village roads, monsoon light, and street corners after rain. I paint not grand monuments but lived moments, spaces that feel remembered rather than staged.
Each painting is an attempt to capture atmosphere: the softness of early morning, the warmth of late afternoon shadows, and the quiet weight of dusk.
Watercolor keeps teaching me humility. It resists control. It rewards patience. It reminds me that beauty often appears in restraint.
This journey continues, rooted in study, shaped by experience, and guided by the simple act of looking closely.
