Artist statement
Watercolor is a conversation between control and chance. I work in transparent layers on archival cotton paper, allowing pigments, water, and timing to shape atmosphere and depth.
I’m Joy — a watercolor artist, artist by passion, drawn to fluid light, quiet moments, and the small stories hidden in everyday places. I paint lanes after rain, village mornings, windows lit at dusk, and the way shadow carries memory. My work balances quick sketches with layered washes and the willingness to let the paper shape the final mood.
